Why Custom Packaging Matters
Your packaging is the first physical touchpoint a customer has with your product. Off-the-shelf boxes and generic labels tell customers you didn't invest in the details. Custom packaging printing tells them you care about every step of the experience.
Custom packaging also serves practical purposes — proper fit reduces damage in shipping, branded exteriors turn every delivery into advertising, and retail-ready packaging meets store requirements for shelf display, UPC placement, and required text.
Whether you're launching a new product, refreshing your brand, or scaling up from hand-packed to production packaging, MCI handles the transition from concept to finished product — all under one roof in St. Louis.

Custom Packaging FAQs
What types of custom packaging do you print?▼
We print product boxes (tuck-end, mailer, rigid setup, sleeve, pillow), labels and stickers (rolls or sheets), shopping bags (paper and reusable), tissue paper, and fully custom structural packaging. If it holds or wraps a product, we can print it.
What is the minimum order quantity for custom packaging?▼
Minimums start at 100 pieces for most packaging types, including custom boxes. Labels start at 250. Unit costs drop significantly at 500, 1,000, and higher quantities. For very small runs, we can sometimes modify existing structures to keep costs down.
How long does custom packaging printing take?▼
Standard product boxes and labels take 7-10 business days. Fully custom structural packaging with new die-cuts takes 14-21 business days, including prototyping. Rush timelines are available for simpler structures. We recommend starting the design process 4-6 weeks before your launch date.
Can you do custom die-cuts and structural designs?▼
Yes. We have in-house die-cutting equipment for custom shapes, windows, inserts, and structural designs. Our team creates die-lines based on your product dimensions and handles prototyping before production. In-house die-cutting means faster turnaround and lower tooling costs.
What file formats do you accept for packaging artwork?▼
We accept Adobe Illustrator (.ai), InDesign (.indd), PDF, and high-resolution PSD files. Artwork should be 300 DPI minimum with 0.125" bleed. We provide die-line templates for your designer, or our in-house design team can create artwork from scratch.
Do you offer prototyping and samples before a full run?▼
Yes. We produce physical prototypes so you can check fit, structure, and print quality before committing to a full production run. Most prototypes are ready in 5-7 business days. Plan for 2-3 prototype rounds on complex projects.
